I HAVEN'T POSTED THIS BUT MAYBE 2 TIMES IN 18YRS OF THIS SITE....
CPJ (Contemporary Progressive Jazz)'s Akihiko Matsui presents a leader work as a base from a multi-perspective.
It's a super fast unison! It's a slip kick! The germ of a novel CPJ that pulls with deep bass!
Akihiko Matsui realizes a "bass leader's work" from the perspective of a multi-instrumentalist with a clear concept in
the CPJ style. While making full use of all elements of the bass, such as a deep bass melody that does not deviate from the bass range,
irregular slapping, and picking harmonics, it is full of
multimodal harmonies and polyrhythms, giving it a CPJ-like sound.
*CPJ = Contemporary Progressive Jazz A futuristic jazz concept pioneered by
composer Akihiko Matsui.
Jackpot performed bass songs by Akihiko Matsui with various guests.
While daring to challenge the concept of bass music, which has limited musical possibilities,
the band realizes bass songs with a novel
approach that does not force the bass to be conscious, featuring Hybrid Slip Kick and super-fast unison. They are a somewhat unusual presence in the CPJ world, and they are also working on
new themes of entertainment in an experimental but ultra-serious way, such as the introduction of visual elements and
tap dance. The full-fledged formation was in 2001.
