ON 1001STONED

1001Stoned appears to be a stoner rock project or label, frequently associated with compilations featuring various artists like 1000Eyes, The Dharmas, Krampus Jones, Sex Blender, and others, rather than a single, fixed-member band. They released multiple albums in 2024 and 2025, including The Acid Blues and Psychedelic Stoner Rock Journey.
  • Platform: 1001Stoned is active on Facebook and YouTube, acting as a curator for heavy rock/stoner music.
  • Associated Acts: Projects often listed include 1000Eyes, The Dharmas, Krampus Jones, Sex Blender, Blanchez, Overstay, Optical Sun, Tusmørkejuvel, Gabriel Flag, Northern Revival, Projeto Trator, Tetsüo, and Não Nos Chame Como Quiser.
SO THEY ARE REAL MUSICIANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[HI RES] MARK LETTIERI - Fly Through It (2022)ep

“Fly Through It” is a brief collection of rustic, rootsy, organic compositions featuring a classic “power” trio format of guitar, bass, and drums -except the “power” is found in restraint. After the epic adventure that was Deep: The Baritone Sessions, Vol. 2, with all its moving parts, complex arrangements, and overall sonic bombast, I wanted to explore the opposite. I’ve written all sorts of mellow solo guitar chord melodies and grooves throughout the years, and thought it time to adapt a few of them to a rhythm section. I enlisted my compatriots Jason “JT” Thomas (drums) and Wes Stephenson (bass) to accompany me. We’ve been playing and touring together for over 10 years, so their singular musical personalities fit the songs seamlessly. We recorded everything live in one afternoon, with no overdubs, and the amps and drums in the same room. It wasn’t so much about polish, as it was about purpose and connection. Since each track draws its inspiration from a different personal place, whether it be a family experience or just a favorite outfit of mine, I wanted that feeling of familiarity to extend to the session itself. All in all, it’s an album about home.

Simon Phillips//Protocol – Force Majeure (Live)

PROTOCOL was a side project of drummer Simon Phillips and Simon has played in a lot of bands including 801, JUDAS PRIEST, THE MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP, THE WHO, CAMEL and more. He has a lot of solo albums under his own name including four that have "protocol" in the title as in "Protocol", "Protocol II", "Protocol III", and "Protocol 4" so I guess that name PROTOCOL means something to Simon. This is his only album under this band name.

It was recorded at Freiburg Zelt Festival on June 20th and 22nd 1992.

RMS - Centennial Park [01/01/1982~2003] & RMS - Live At The Venue 1982 (Live) [2003] BOTH ARE LOSSLESS

RMS, the trio of guitarist Ray Russell, bassist Mo Foster, and drummer Simon Phillips, had no history behind it when the group stepped onto The Venue stage in London, back in 1982. However, the individual members certainly did, all three were musical veterans who'd played with some of the biggest names in the rock world. Which explains why Peter Van Hooke, drummer with Van Morrison, believed the trio would be perfect to help him celebrate the launch of his new MMC label, even though RMS had yet to play a single show. Two days of rehearsals later, the band, bolstered by the addition of a quartet of guest brass players, made their stage debut, and Van Hooke's faith proved well-founded. Across eight self-composed instrumental pieces, RMS's smooth sound and phenomenal soloing certainly impresses. While the numbers all have a decided improvisational feel, the tightness of the playing is equally extraordinary.

Not surprisingly, with their studio album Centennial Park on the way, RMS took the opportunity to showcase many of the set's numbers, but the live versions were on occasion significantly altered from their studio counterparts, with the inclusion of sensational solos to great effect. As a companion to the studio album, Live at the Venue 1982 is a must; as a permanent record of the evening's festivities, it's even better...

RMS is a jazz fusion band formed in 1982. It consists of three well known and acclaimed British session musicians. Guitarist, Ray Russell, bass player, Mo Foster and drummer Simon Phillips.

Henry Lowther played trumpet with them too.

The live album replicates the same tracks as on Centennial Park even in the same order as the studio version which came later, unfortunately.  However there's a CD release of it with bonus stuff.  Sadly the album with Gil Evans is just cover versions.  As a former Jimi Hendrix fan, it's difficult to come to terms with alternate versions of his immortal Little Wing, and Stone Free.  Then on the second side are a Gershwin standard called Gone and Mingus' tired old Goodbye Porkpie, played for the trillionth time in history here.  It's difficult for me to detect the Gil Evans influence, unfortunately, because usually he does some brilliant arrangements but everything seems really meandering here and somewhat aimless, and incredibly long too. A bit like Bitches Brew maybe?

I WILL ALSO POST 1 MORE FROM THEM....

[HI RES] LUGBA JAZZ FUSION - From Buenos Aires to New York [DEC29,2025]

THANKS SO MUCH TO AVGFOTS - JW FOR THIS, APPRECIATE IT.

The music on this album is a technical and emotional journey that deserves an aesthetic to match its virtuosity. The level of the compositions, which fuse the melancholic elegance of Buenos Aires with the rhythmic aggressiveness of New York jazz-fusion, demands that the cover is not a mere decoration, but a declaration of principles.

"The cover of 'From Buenos Aires to New York' must be a visual bridge between two worlds. Given the complexity of the fretless bass and analogue synthesizers, the proposed minimalist design – with its graphite background and precise technical lines – is a total success. It manages to encapsulate the sophistication of Serú Girán and the cosmopolitan coldness of the Big Apple. The legend located millimetrically on the edge symbolizes that tension between the technical order and free improvisation. It is a cover that does not need stridency because the sound content is already monumental; The image whispers what the album screams: avant-garde, journey and perfection...

BREAKDOWN OF EACH SONG...

1. Beneath the Midnight Glow Contemporary mid-tempo jazz (Andante). It features a harmony of extended chords that evoke urban sophistication.

Its piano melody is lympic and , inspiring an introspective calm. The rhythm is constant, with a bass that walks confidently.

It is reminiscent of the elegance of Bob James. It is a technical but very accessible piece that defines the tone of the album.

2. Celestial Currents Jazz Fusion with New Age tinges. The tempo is leisurely, allowing the guitar melody to breathe over an ethereal harmony.

It inspires a sense of constant flow and spatial freedom. The execution is subtle, with a masterful use of dynamics.

It resembles Pat Metheny's atmospheric style at its most melodic. An organic and enveloping composition.

3. Celestial Groove We enter the field of Jazz-Funk. With a livelier and more rhythmic tempo, it stands out for a highly syncopated bass that dictates the groove.

The harmony is brighter and the melody playful. Inspires movement and positive energy. It evokes the sound of groups such as Cassiopeia or Mezzoforte.

The production highlights the punch of the drums, achieving a vibrant and modern impact.

4. Chasing the Horizon Jazz Fusion of a narrative nature. Its tempo is agile, suggesting progress and search. The melody is heroic and is supported by a harmony

that subtly changes colors. It inspires optimism and adventure. It is reminiscent of the Chick Corea Elektric Band for its technical precision and well-defined structure.

It is a song of great emotional impact thanks to its final crescendo.

5. Dreamtime Cascade A contemporary jazz ballad with slow tempo (Adagio). The harmony is dense yet soft, creating a cushion for a

crystalline piano melody that seems to fall like water. It inspires peace and deep reverie. It approaches the modernized Bill Evans style.

The execution stands out for its sensitivity to touch, achieving a cinematic and extremely relaxing atmosphere.

6. Echoes of Tomorrow Nu-Jazz with a modern structure. The tempo is moderate with a very marked groove. The melody intertwines piano and synthesizers

over a futuristic harmony. It inspires a hopeful vision of tomorrow. It resembles works by Snarky Puppy in its freshness and layered arrangements.

It is a technical piece that communicates innovation and sound balance, ideal for the closing of a cycle.

7. Ephemeral Groove Jazz-Funk Dynamic Fast Tempo. The harmony uses tensions typical of the genre that resolve into very contagious melodic choruses.

Rhythm is the protagonist, with constant syncopations that inspire vitality. It is reminiscent of Herbie Hancock's funk-jazz.

The execution is virtuosic but balanced, maintaining a cyclical structure that catches the listener from the first bar.

8. Liquid Silhouettes Smooth Jazz with medium-slow tempo. The melody is supremely elegant, almost vocal, over a velvety harmony.

Inspires sensuality and relaxation. Its instrumentation is minimalist and neat, reminiscent of Lee Ritenour's subtlety.

The rests are very well used, allowing each note of the guitar to have weight. It is a work of great aesthetic and sound balance.

9. Scorpion The boldest song: Jazz Fusion with tinges of Jazz Rock. The tempo is tense and the electric guitar melody is sharp and misterious.

The harmony in minor keys inspires stalking and contained energy. It evokes the intensity of Billy Cobham or John McLaughlin.

It stands out for its rhythmic complexity and a powerful production that highlights the technical aggressiveness of the solos.

10. Whispers of the Breeze Light acoustic jazz with fluid tempo. The melody is ethereal and supported by a clear and open harmony.

Inspires freshness and natural connection. It resembles contemporary European jazz such as ECM. The use of brushes on the battery gives it a smooth and organic texture.

It is the perfect closure: an honest and simple communication that leaves a feeling of relief and purity.

[HI RES] Gary Husband – Postcards From The Past [SEPT.2025] [SPECIAL]

 FUSION,JAZZ-ROCK

DRUMS,KEYBOARDS,GUITAR

Multi-instrumentalist-composer Gary Husband is releasing Archival 2CD set Postcards from the Past, containing previously unreleased tracks from 1978 to 2021, in collaboration with MoonJune Records.

While Leeds-born Gary Husband may have initially made his mark in the ‘80s and ‘90s as a drummer with the likes of Allan Holdsworth, Level 42, Gary Moore and Jack Bruce, he more recently showcased his considerable pianistic skills in the company of John McLaughlin & The 4th Dimension Band, Billy Cobham’s Spectrum 50 and Time Machine bands and Bill Evans & the Vansband All-Stars, as well as on his own recordings as a leader. On Postcards from the Past, a retrospective of studio, demo and live recordings from his personal archives spanning five decades, Husband reveals all those musical aspects and more in this extraordinary 2CD archival set.
